Saturday I was helping a friend replace motor mounts on his 230SL. The mounts in the car were not for an SL - they looked like they came out of a 114/115 chassis car. To make the story short we had to replace not only the mounts, but the plate for the limit stop, the limit stop bolts, everything. The problem I see is that the hole in the limit stop plate is actually larger than the washer and rubber buffer on the limit stop bolt. I checked with our local parts guy, who is really good on these older cars, and the P/N for the plate and the bolt are correct according to M-B. Anybody have any insight on this?

What's the engine # on the 230, and is it auto?
Mounts before engine # 000537 manual and # 000005 auto were different.
Later ones fit a lot of models, not specific to 113s

I don't have the engine number. The car is a manual trans. According to my parts guy the chassis number break was around 012000 (if I remember right) and this car is chassis #0166XX, which places it in the later group.
