Thanks for your contributions :-)

I found these two pictures with less than 80 Kb, which is the maximum size to be attached.

Best regards

Hey Jaap (nice Dutch name by the way) - I know this photo and had it as a wallpaper sometime. I think I found it by Googling on "images". The only thing that irks me in this particular car is that the rocker panels are body color rather than flat black "body schutz". Always makes the car look heavier than it should in my opinion.

Try this image. You'll have to tile it (as opposed to cenetered or stretched) but it looks pretty nice that way. Give it a try.

Albert, would you have the "230 SL bosc b" picture in a better resolution? I know that you can post an image of max. 80 kB, but you could send it to my email muf@mail.cz.
Thanks
And thank you all for the wallpapers. The pagoda.jpg is a very nice photo but a bit too colorful and patchworky for a wallpaper :-)

I'm sorry, but I have not this picture in better resolution. I only have it in that way.

Here are two that I use.  My favorite of the two is the rear shot, but I customize the display by effectively "zooming" in to the center of the picture, which eliminates the standing figures and other details from the Windows XP desktop view.  Do this by right clicking on the desktop, click Properties, click Desktop, select the picture and select Center from the choices in the Position box, then click OK.  I think you'll like the effect.

The original of the frontal shot is 1.76 mb and the rear shot is 2.49 mb.  I can e-mail these larger versions to you if you think you might use like to use them.

Nice looking car JOS.  I haven't seen your beauty for quite awhile now.  As a wallpaper suggestion, why don't you show us a picture of the "beast"?

Since the original request was for a "nice professional" image, how about this one?

I use one of the following pictures (link through to large photo to get the whole thing)

http://bali.esweb.nl/modules.php?op=modload&name=PhotoIndex&file=index&func=showphoto&startrec=2242

or

http://bali.esweb.nl/modules.php?op=modload&name=PhotoIndex&file=index&func=showphoto&startrec=2243

Needless to say it is my own car, and I'm in it.

I was doodling about with some of the shots I took at the Tidal Basin in D.C. last month to see if any of them would work as a desktop background. In Windows XP you have the choice to Tile (which zooms into to the upper left hand quadrant of the picture to fill the screen), Stretch (to make the photo fit the screen, no matter what its original shape may have been), or Center (which zooms into the center of the picture to fill the screen). Quite by accident this is how one of the shots appeared when I chose Center. It makes a dandy Desktop background.  The only thing that bugs me occasionally is that because the way XP lays out my icons one of them covers up the inner fender "ridge" behind the headlight!
