Title: It’s Cruising Season
Post by: Camhi on June 06, 2020, 13:25:20
Just sharing positive vibes with my 1969 280sl. I know not the best background being in a parking lot. Better views to come this summer.

Who else has this color?

Nice.  Interesting "bar" you seem to have on front Bumper?  Would you share a front photo?   Don't think I have seen that before.

Here is a better picture of the front bumper. Is this bar not common? Also does anyone else have the thin stripe that runs along the side?

Do you mean the stripe marked by the red arrow?
It is not original but one can find it sometimes on cars dressed up by dealers/flippers to impress a prospective buyer.
Your front bar certainly is unusual and probably as rare as the Texas Longhorn decoration.  ;D

Haha I wonder if there is a way to replace the bar with the longhorn. Would really stand out in NYC.

You can see the stripe on the door of the picture I took of the bar. Let me see if I have a clearer picture.

Probably a period Aamco accessory sometimes referred to as a nudge bar.  They were quite popular back in the day as a means to help protect hoods and grilles on sports cars like M.G.s, Healeys, Triumphs, Minis, SP250s (Daimler Darts), Alfas and 124 coupes and spyders from being dinged in parking lots.
