Anyone recognize this? Very unusual backup lens and chrome trim, doesn't appear to fit any W108, 109, 110, 111, 112, or 113 but what is it? Thanks,
Chris

What makes you think it's from a Mercedes?

Possibly an Audi, but defintely looks to be from the 60's from a European car.

I think it's a 1969-1975 Audi 100, though I am mildly confused by the red -as opposed to amber- indicator lens; I didn't think this car was ever exported to the US.

Hello Mr. Macha
My name is Roberto Rusnak. I live in the Republic of Panama (Central America).
I saw in the MBPontons.org website that you made a contribution with some pictures of a panphlet of paint codes. May you tell me the year of this publication?.
I have a mercedes benz 300c that came in two tone combination (something that is not usual for this model) I saw that your panphlet have some collor combinations but I didnt found two tone for 300 cars may you tell me if you have this page on your panphlet? May you send me a picture of this page? Thank you so much for all your help.
Best Regards

My first reaction to the photo was that the lense was from an Audi.
There was a USA model 100LS I dont remember the year range but I think that USA Porsche dealers were forced to sell these unpopular cars before they could reorder 911 and 914's.
About all I rember about the cars was the inboard front brakes were so difficult to work on that no one ever changed the brake pads untill the rotors and calipers were ruined.

I believe that the Audi 100ls last year of production was 1977. In 1978 it was replaced by the 5 cylinder Audi 5000. The 100ls was so unpopular and left such a bad taste with owners of the car that it was renamed as the 5000. The 5000 was around until the unexpected sudden acceleration pboblem and later was rebadged as the 100.

Roberto,
Hello. I do not quite understand your request. Do you want photos that show the color of paint and the associated code?
Also, who is Mr. Macha?
Thank you,
