Title: Vanity Plates (USA)
Post by: mdsalemi on March 16, 2005, 09:57:34
Hi Gents,

JonnyB (Ohio) and me (Michigan) share the same thing--"vanity" plates for our 113's that say PAGODA.  These of course are the real thing--that's our actual licence plate number, not a fake.  Rodd sports Ohio MIT STIHL (with style).

What do you have?  How many other USA members have PAGODA plates or something like them?  You know, PAGODA, NICE113, REDMB or what?

BONUS QUESTION:  My New York friend, a "Trekkie", had plates that said, HEZDEDJIM.  Can you figure it out?  ;)

I opted for period plates not vanity plates.  NY state allows you to use plates from the year of manufacture as long as it is not a currently used number/letter combination.  Ebay is a wonderful resource and I found a set in great condition.  What was a bit more difficult is getting the period registration sticker for that year that went on the plate, again ebay came through.  There are people out there with the most unusual businesses, who would think there's a large market for 1971 original registration stickers from NY???

MIT STIL.  Stihl is something completely different (www.stihl.com/index.htm)!  [:0]  I guess I could drive my Pagoda "mit stihl" if I needed some firewood.   :D

Here is the Georgia version. One of these days soon I'll even have a car to attach it to.
