Title: 230SL Injector Fuel-lines Supporting Bracket Photo or Illustration - Got Them
Post by: mistertj on May 09, 2020, 19:44:35
In search of a close up photo or detailed illustration showing the fuel lines supporting bracket that is on the front of the engine. I took the bracket parts off years ago when I rebuilt the engine and now just can't seem to get it fitted back correctly. I've attached a photo of the lines themselves as they currently sit.

SLS are not bad to get a general idea: https://www.sls-hh-shop.de/main/en/07-mech-injection-air-intake-07-a-injection-system-c-3_2334_58

I attached a couple of pictures.

Please be very careful with the length of the bolt (M12 I think) that is holding it. Feel the depth of the hole where it is screwed in - there is a pivot for chain tensioner there on the other side. If you tighten too long bolt, you may damage the thread or engine head. I used some thread seal for that bolt.

Thank you. The diagram is most helpful. I wonder if somewhere there is one of a 230SL? Your photos are helpful too but I'm noticing differences between the 230 and 280. Thanks again.

For this, quite a good picture is here: https://www.sl113.org/wiki/Engine/Start

I am sure I saw it on the forum too, but cannot find it now...

Pawel66 - Your comment..."Please be very careful with the length of the bolt (M12 I think) that is holding it. Feel the depth of the hole where it is screwed in - there is a pivot for chain tensioner there on the other side".  Can that bolt be removed or will removing it cause the tensioner sprocket to fall?

You can remove it. Just that the hole is through and too long bolt will collide with that removable pin I called pivot.
