Help?!#. I'm putting my instruments back in the dash and thought I knew which retaining bracket went to each instrument. The center cluster is obvious, but now I'm not sure which bracket goes to the speedo and which goes to the tach. Can someone help me.
Secondly, does the light bulb wiring housing for the instruments protrude through the holes in the brackets? Thanks!

The bracket for the tachometer has a bump out on one side that allows for clearance for one of the light bulb fittings. The speedo should be flat all the way across the back.
Not sure what you mean about the wiring housing question. The ground wire is attached at the center knurled nut, the wires do not go through the bracket.

Jonny,
Thanks for the info. So...the Speedo bracket is fairly flat across the back (no bump out). There are two holes cut in the bracket. My original question isn't very clear. I was uncertain as to whether the light bulb fittings go through one or both of the holes. Probably would make the unit more stable but I was uncertain that was the case. You would have to fit the unit into the bracket and then slide the light bulb housing into place afterwards. Is that anymore clear?
Thanks

The brackets will be the last thing to go in to hold the instruments in place. The light bulb wires (except for the brown grounding wire) are already in place and not routed through the bracket or keeper. You do not want the light bulb wires to touch the keeper, as then the bulbs can short to ground.
Putting that silly brown wire in place will be a test of your hand flexibility.
