What is the way to drain the fuel tank prior to removing fuel pump? ???

If your fuel hose is not old and brittle you may just be able to clamp it without draining the fuel tank.  That's what I did.

If you do want to drain the tank there is a Allen screw at the bottom center of the tank.  Look in the tech manual for how to build a tool if you dont have the correct size Allen wrench.

Yes, hose clamp tools are available at most auto stores and are cheap. I think you can also remove the fuel sending unit and siphon most of the fuel out. From there, remove the drain plug and it won't be as dramatic as when the tank is full. Be careful around gasoline vapors!!!!!!!

Clamp and plug the hoses.

If using vice grips you can place two sockets on the tips of the jaws. This will create a nice smooth pinching surface as not to damage the hose. 👍

Nice tip with the 2 sockets, I like that 👍
Also if you have the T Piece bypass as I do in the photograph ensure you clamp both hoses at the same time  otherwise the tank will drain out of the other .
