Title: Recommended Source For Trunk Floor Patch Panels
Post by: Chris Long on April 19, 2020, 21:22:51
Any suggestions or recommendations on trunk floor panels.

I think I will need main floor and left and right sides.

K and K seem pretty reasonable...

Thanks

I bought mine from K&k and they worked fine. Would buy from them again.

Yes, K&K is a good choice. In fact, their panels are arguably better than original since they are zinc coated on both sides making them more corrosion resistant than the originals. K&K was making and selling 190SL replacement floor panels directly to Mercedes-Benz as an OEM supplier some years back. They have a nice website and on-line parts catalogs which are very helpful.

Another option to consider if you main panel is only rusted by the seam is to just replace the foot or so on the left side.  It’s probably a day or two less work and you are retaining the integrity of most of the original panel. I’m not that efficient with replacing metal but it only took me a day to replace that section including welding the replacement panel in with faux spot welds. You have to buy the full panel and will not use 3/4’s of it but it’s a nice piece of sheet metal to have  around.

Left side has some but it looks like water tracked along the electrical cord. Holes are actually on the right under where the wire goes to rear right light cluster. Seems like best strategy is do it once and do it all...

Hi, replaced the trunk floor in 1971 280SL, bought items directly from local Mercedes Benz service/parts counter. was my 2017 project - perfect fitment.

113-616-02-62 - trunk floor
113-610-08-62 - floor -trunk right
113-611-00-03 - floor floor - left

hope this helps
