Title: Re Keying Door Locks
Post by: col320ce on April 10, 2020, 07:57:19
Does anyone know if the leaves/inserts to the lock are available to re-key a lock or repair a warn lock?

Thanks

They weren't ever available from Mercedes, but I'm sure a locksmith somewhere may have some.  A while back I remember seeing these available online somewhere, but they were for the late W116, R107, (1979 onward) and W201 cars with the high security locks.  I can't imagine they'd be the same, but who knows?

As Aaron says - I did all my locks (except fuel tank) done by the datacard number at the local key guy. Only fuel cap I ordered from Mercedes with the lock and key as per datacard number.

When I disassembled and cleaned my locks I measured and recorded each pin with a micrometer. It came in handy upon reassembly when I accidentally mixed up 2 pins and found the key would not fit.

I've found some replacement wafers ... they're on order and may take a while to arrive.  If they are correct I'll post the details here.

I have a full set of wafers, springs etc for the later double sided keys. I keyed all my own locks without issue.
