Hello,
This is my first post, so Hello to everyone.
I'm working on a 230, especially on a height problem on the front.
The distance between the tires and the body is huge, about 15 cm.
First I've blamed the springs because i've been told that the front train comes from a another car, maybe a W108.
So I changed them for new ones order from sls, (mercedes part :113 321 02 04), with new rubber mounting according to the specification of the car , but still the distance didn't change.
Didn't find information about height in the manual.
Have you got any ideas
Thanks a lot
Léo

Hi Léo, maybe your rearaxle mount is collapsed ; check in the rear center of the boot if your plastic cap is in position or not.

Leo, I hope this is of some use to you. It's not easy to understand, but once understood it's always spot on.

Indeed, front ride height is a function of wishbone angle but few people have the tools to measure it.
There's been plenty of discussion on here about a more practical method for DIYers which involves measuring from wheel centre to wheel arch and comparison with others. A search should reveal the relevant threads.

A basis for your SL is, the car should be level, and also same height right/left.
One can measure with a spirit level, on the threshold (with door open) and on the trunk valance (trunk/boot lid open)
