Hi everybody.
Would any one know what is the wire material used on the fuel sensor as resistor. To meet the empty 83 ohms required for the indicator?
Thanks.

Hi,
there had been some threads, e.g. https://www.sl113.org/forums/index.php?topic=29859.msg216339#msg216339 and in particular http://www.hehlhans.de/tipp19.htm.

Thanks, I try to translate and find out! I think they give the resistance value, not the material....
I'll take more time to read later.
Thanks again

Hi Thierry,
the described wires are made from a Nickel-Cobalt-alloying called NiCr6015. Details see here: https://pauly-stahlhandel.com/en/din-en/nicr6015.
Attached a datsheet of the product used, it's from Isabellenhütte called Isa-Chrom 60: https://www.isabellenhuette.de/en/precision-alloys/products/more-alloys/.

That wire is very delicate and can break very easily. If there was a way to refurbish those sending units it could be a good thing for everyone.

Just got all the info:
The wire is made of nickel-chrome, lengh approx. 45 cm. 170 ohms/m, and 0,09 mm diameter.
Lets find some now??????

Just for info to ALL, these gauges were used also on PORSCHE 911, and maybe VW.
I have a friend, former PORSCHE dealer that might be able to find some left in his garage for me! Lets see...
Take care. Thierry from Laos.

Thierry,
You can find this wire pretty easily, for example on Amazon. Search for Nichrome 39AWG wire.
