Thank you, Jose,
For the nice pic.
Southern California ... always good weather.
Not so here in normal Europe... :o

A bit dusty the car...,
perhaps he is de-dusting the car with a little tour.  ;)

On Q though,
why do you think it is a 280 SL...?
Both rearview mirrors indicate to me it is more likely a 230 SL or early 250 SL...

Trunk badge?

Best,
Achim

Achim,
You are right.....the car was a 230SL.......I took several pics and the one taken behind trunk side shows the "230 SL" badge.
You are good in Pagodas !

Best rgds,
Jose

Wait a minute.... This is my car!
Was checking into the Forum (Corona, bored) to just see this post. Funny.

It's a 66' 230SL. Maroon. Have it for ~20 years. And yes, it was very dirty when the picture was taken. Much cleaner now :-).
I had it with Klaus Nagel (Redwood City) to get some things done (replace steering gearbox, install AC - which works great). Klaus is an old-time Mercedes specialist who really knows these cars. Not many around.

Hi Guys,
There seem to be another classic, further down the road. It looks like a white Ponton Cabrio.
