Title: Speedometer seal 250LS auto
Post by: TheMadSpoon on January 16, 2020, 00:39:12
Greetings.  Searched and searched, called bud's benz etc.  Anyone know how to seal a transmission fluid leak at speedo cable?  Have new cable, no seal.  Can't seem to locate the part number or come up with another solution.  Thanks!

Sometimes this is a good place to start: https://www.sls-hh-shop.de/main/de/25-26-kupplung-4-gg-getriebe-26-a-schaltgetriebe-c-3_2348_63

Hi,
sometimes this is a better place to look at: https://www.niemoeller.de/de/w113/w113/B043/260/d26107-dichtring.
Why? Compared to SLS Niemoeller provides in most cases the original MB part number beside their own part number.

This seal    A007 997 73 46, when you put it in order form shows with 02 at the end, is $4, available 24h.

Definitely it is an advantage of Niemoeller that they provide original PN (outdated sometimes, but it is help). SLS is better at drawings. Niemoeller have MB graphics with a lot of parts not shown. SLS have detailed drawings with early\late versins shown etc.

In this particular example:

- in EPC the seal on speedo shaft comes in repair kit only as per the picture; there are part numbers for a couple of seals that are not on the picture - but you need to know what you are looking for
- without more detailed description it is difficult to pin-point the part (e.g. manual or automatic)
- in Niemoeller it is not on the picture either - you knew what you were looking for, so you found it
- in both Niemoeller and EPC I often just scroll through the part list; in EPC you have the parts tat are not on drawing next to the components they belong to that are shown on drawings

Thank you SO much.  I searched niemoeller and others but just wasn't sure if that was correct as difficult to tell from the pics.  Again, thanks

Just in case anyone doesn't know, you can also enter an MB part number into both sites and search for it.
