Title: 230SL Auto transmission - locked after re-installing it?

I have just re-installed the engine and auto tranmission after a major engine bay job. Still a lot of work to be done before I can start the engine but I needed to move the car around in my garage.

For some reason I can only move/push the car forward. Not backwards/reverse. It's completely locked.

I tried to change gear but no difference.

Any ideas?

I hope you got the torque converter correctly engaged to the front pump?

I disconnected the gear selector arm and set it in N - problem sorted. Then did the adjustment and now all seems to be good.
