Title: Auto v Manual transmission main wiring looms.
Post by: Blackted on November 10, 2019, 07:39:07
Have a pagoda that has been converted from stick shift Manual to automatic.
There is no wiring loom to be found for the auto shift solenoids.
Question, are the two looms different ?

Hi Blackted,
Yes, there are various looms for the Pagodas, LHD vs LHD, manual vs auto, 230 vs 250 vs 280 also USA vs EU, etc. The auto setup does not have a separate, dedicated loom as for example the E Type. They have about 7 looms for each car, eg dash board to left forward, dashboard only, dash to right rear,  nose section only. In other words different sections.

The Pagodas have only one continuous loom specific to the car, no add on’s.

There are differences in wiring by year as well.  Here is a wiring diagram for auto and manual late model SLs with emission systems.  I realize this system is stand alone and not part of the shifting solenoids.

It's fairly easy to go from Auto to standard trans as far as wiring goes but not the other way around. Why don't you go back to the standard trans?
