Title: testing wiper motor and mechanism
Post by: johnk on October 20, 2019, 23:40:38
I had to unfreeze my wiper mechanism as part of my restorations and now I need to test that the motor can move the mechanism freely before I put the dash back together. The wire harness is far from complete so I cant' just turn the wipers on at the switch. The wiper motor has five posts. Does anyone know which ones I can touch with a positive and negative battery connection to get the wiper motor to turn safely?

If you know someone with an old MB or a 113 just plug your motor on to their outlet and see if yours works.

Maybe this is helpful (search: wiper motor wiring):

I just did the same tests with the wiper motor from my 230SL.
As you can see at my picture (hard to see), the pins have an indication with ground and numbers 1, 3 and 4.
You can connect to earth and put current at the 3 to see if the motor is functioning.
