Hello All,
I know there are at least five so-called Pagoda guidebooks available. It seems that this Chris Bass guy is a Brit, but I cannot track down his credentials concerning our cars. The Amazon Books site has NO reviews for this book, or this author.
Should I hold out for a better version of a guidebook? And, if he is such a renowned "expert" WHY would he refer to these these cars as Coupe's"? Is that just a linguistic thing?

Since the California Coupe does not have a soft top, it was not considered by DB to be a "roadster."

Hi,
here you find some (English) reviews of this book: https://www.amazon.de/Mercedes-Benz-Pagoda-230-280SL/dp/1845841131/ref=sr_1_8?__mk_de_DE=%C3%85M%C3%85%C5%BD%C3%95%C3%91&keywords=Pagoda+buyers+guide&qid=1571470356&sr=8-8.

A lot cheaper on Amazon.

Here are 3 other books to consider. Take everything with a grain of salt. They all have some mis-information in them.

I made the mistake of buying -- it's utterly useless. Some marginal photos of a rotted car with very generic buying tips.

Most of the books give you the same history of the car and a few pictures that you could take at any decent car show. There is a wealth of knowledge here if you are looking to buy a car.

If I thought there was any money in it I would write such a book.

Unfortunately, only those who expect to make money write such books. People who really know about the subject and have a passion for it, do not! If they would, you would get something worthwhile having! 8) 8)
