Thank's i'll use 1/2 gloss

Semi. New straps available from Mercedes for a few dollars. If your cap says “100” on it it is correct original and should be yellow zinc plated.

Job done with satin black paint after bead blasting in my "diy" congelator bead blasting cabinet ;)

This cabinet is fantastic!
I think I need to buy my wife another freezer in case the current one goes bad. Freezer is very important in a household, isn't it?

How do you control the dust that's part of blasting? I don't see any sort of vacuum cleaner.

Hi Doctor B , i have a vacuum exit on one side where i plug a vacuum cleaner:
(https://i.goopics.net/800/n7mXd.jpg) (https://goopics.net/i/n7mXd)
At the Bottom, the balls of sanding go in a plastic basket that i can slide on one side , so i can filter the paint résidus through a strainer and put back the basket Under the wood planks .
I have removed the grill upon the basket because the vacuum pipe needs to be modifyed in its position to avoid sucking only the air . The next thing i have to do is to fit a V Bottom in the basket so the balls will Always go to the vacuum hose

I have fitted two lights and the glass on the top can be easily removed when it is too much "sand blasted"

Very nice cabinet! Fortunately, we have "Eastwood" stores here in the U.S. where you can buy blast cabinets for really cheap... 8) ;D ;D ;D

It seems that in the US you have a great variety of supply of tools and materials for DYI everything. Including opportunity to rent tools...
My wife works with interior decorations and garden - it is amazing what you get in the US. Same goes for weekend mechanics.
-
That's a really nice cabinet. Much larger than most of the ready made ones.

There are many shades of black. That is why it is better to give the color code: its satin black RAL 9005.

Shades of grey Too….! :-X

If anyone intends to do a lot of sand, bead, or walnut blasting. A Dust Deputy or equivalent is a must have. It catches most of the spoils before it hits the filter in your shopvac. Was definitely worth it.

Does anybody know the part # for the straps ? I have a number of 900288122101 , but it is NLA.
Thanks , Paul

They "were" available last week. I just bought the last 2 clamps from a San Diego MB dealer. They had to transfer them from New Jersey. I'm sure they can order from Germany now.
