Just wondering if anybody in the U.S. has ordered any parts from SLS in Germany, and if so, how was their service?

Yes, I purchased some items from them, and they came faster than I thought they would from Germany. They were all as described. Other than price, I had no problems.

I used VanDijk for two used sets of headlight reflectors. Fair prices. Dealt with them 100% through e-mail. I thought the shipping took a little longer than necessary, but who knows what to expect? I think SLS has a very good reputation as well.

I have used SLS many times from Denmark. Their homepage, (www.sls-hh.de)is very good.
Good service. No problems.

Shipping from Germany is very expensive compared to shipping rates here. If they ship by surface mail you have to expect 7 weeks. By airmail I have experienced 3 weeks and it is even more expensive. Deutsche Post is a misnomer. It should read: "Langsam & Teuer"

Agree with you on the expensive shipping. For me, it's not too big a difference between ordering from them and the US since it works out to be roughly the same. My order got delayed because I was told by SLS to order as much as I can at once in order to save on shipping. Was going to split my orders with a dealer in the US but it doesn't make sense. Still compiling my order list 5 weeks later!

I agree shipping from Europe is more expensive comparing to
the rates inside the US.
I do not agree that German Post (joined with DHL) needs up
to 7 weeks to deliver parcels to the US.
They factual need 7-14 days, but often have to take the blame
for delays on senders side.
