Title: French Lens
Post by: Jonny B on February 15, 2005, 15:32:25
Just to show people that these really do exist. Here is an all red tailight lens (on ebay) that has the amber reverse light.

For the lazy....

Is this the one that's supposed to be specific to Italy or France or some place?  I'll have to look at mine tonight.  When people say "all red", I didn't know that it implied "with white reverse lense insert".

Edit:  Mine have the white reverse lens, as in this pic:

Is this correct for a 230SL originally from Italy, or should it be same as the French style in the eBay auction?

I thought the amber reverse light was unique to French cars. I will be interested to learn more.

I used to import from a company in Binassco Torino Italy taillight units for Alfa Romeo and fiat.  (The manufacture was Altissimo)The italian lens for an Alfa GTV 1974 are all Amber  with outthe back up white lens. Now just picture a GTV midnight blue with Gold Chromador star wheels and CN-36 perelli tires with a factory sun roof and tan leather interior. What a beautifull car it was.
