I contacted this manufacturer of front coil springs:
http://coilsprings.com/classic.aspx
and they wanted to know the original MB part number for my 70 280SL.
Is this it?
1083210304

You can get part numbers by subscribing to the Electronic Parts Catalog.
https://epc.startekinfo.com/epc/subscribe.jsp or here's a free one:
mbepc.net
If you have standard suspension the part # should be 1133210404.

Is that for all W113s? Or is that 250SL-specific (from what I can google)?

I had an EPC subscription and let it lapse. Now I use this. Since we have virtually the same car this link is all set up:
https://partsouq.com/en/catalog/genuine/vehicle?c=Mercedes-Benz&ssd=%24%2AKwGlkYCk4cKp6s3Epce--P3pyc7Qoa6jorC2uf_W6rLhtKux7Oz--vWzqrWnoKD-9Oi1urPj9LSrsezs_vr9s6q10LO_7KOytayzpq_es7_str-1rLOhtesAAAAAl7aqGg%24&vid=494&q=
According to that the correct part# is A1133210404
If you feel like your front end is diving too much that is an inherent problem:
