Title: Head gasket replacement

Hi, I have taken out head bolts and the 4 smaller bolts but  I can not remove head, does anything else have to come off ?

Double check that you got the two down in the chain gallery. May just be stuck and need a bit of persuasion.

Maurice, I understand from MB Classic Center today that MB has no head gaskets in stock, both in US and in Europe. Do you have your new gasket, if so where did you find one?

I think Maurice has a 250SL. These head gaskets are available. The ones that we currently cannot find are the 2nd generation M130 (280SL) gaskets for the "oval combustion chamber" head

Bob, I did get a head gasket from SLS in Germany I'm not sure if they have any left, it was around 150euros.

I also have a spare on order from MBspecialist International  ( support@mbspecialist.com )  for  88.20 euros.

Not sure when it is coming.
