Title: what was left of my hanger (klunk busing)
Post by: merrill on June 16, 2019, 22:39:59
got around to pulling the axle hanger today.

it took forever to beat out the large pieces of the  old hanger (klunk ) bushing

it came out in 3 pieces.

it took about 2 hours of using penetrating oil, letting the hanger warm up in the sun, using the expansion hardware Hans talked about
and just elbow grease.

what a pain but the reward will be worth the effort.

Next time remove both cinch bolts completely and drive a wedge in slot at each cinch bolt connection and it will slide right out. A couple metal chisels work perfect as wedges for this job.

hi Joe
yes,

both bolts removed and hardware used to carefully open the gap. (photo)

not sure if that was the original hanger or not but it was really stuck in there
