First and foremost a big thank you to you all with my various posts in helping a newbie w113 (230) owner quickly get their head around their car ....
Next question : upon pulling away from standstill (in 2nd as normal/car is an auto) I have an overly big flat spot in power. She will pick away but the flat spot is overly large and while there is no misfire something is amiss . Any advice is appreciate . Thanks Barry
Ps there was a vacuum problem with the ‘box that’s now been rectified .

Sounds like the fuel mixture settings (mid-range?). Not heard of this issue before. Does it always do this, or only when the engine is still cold? I would check that the fuel linkage rod connections and brackets are all nice and tight.

Timing advance problem?
-
Yes Chumps, timing did cross my mind . In addition to this when starting the engine from cold it turns 8-10 times before firing. One started it runs fine at standstill . But even when warm spins more times that it should to fire up ..... would you still be thinking ‘timing’ ?

Have you also checked the dwell angle?
