Title: Replace Ignition Switch 230SL '63
Post by: free2keun on June 03, 2019, 11:57:15

I have been far too good again last weekend. My brother-in-law married his daughter, who asked if they could use the 230SL to make the wedding pictures more beautiful. After 10 minutes I received a phone call that the cylinder of the socket had come out and the car would not start anymore ...
A towing service has brought the 230SL back and in the meantime I have looked at how I can repair the outlet, but I don't find a link anywhere.
Can someone explain to me here how to get started without being damaged?
So I will never give the Pagoda to anyone again!
Thank you for your support!

Try to get the lock cylinder back in place. Normally they are held in by the chrome bezel. You may have to insert the key into the cylinder before you re-install it.

Hello Ja 17, the cylinder is back in the lock, but the key is stuck, nothing moves...

So now I put the steering lock out.  Do you know how I can take off the bezel ?

Did you try jiggling the steering wheel while turning the key?
