Title: Bradma plate ...
Post by: Por911t4 on May 27, 2019, 16:16:33
While the weather is wet outside I’m enjoying a glass of wine and digesting 53 years of paperwork that came with my newly acquired ‘66 230SL .... what exactly was the purpose of the bradma plate ? (Pictured)

Thanks
Barry (Glasgow, Scotland uk)

It could be inserted into an imprinter and all the owner and vehicle information could then be transferred onto an otherwise handwritten service repair order (in the decades before computerized dealership and information systems).

It was used when you took your car in for service. If you remember the old days of when credit cards had to be embossed and run through the machine to imprint your account information and which you would then get a carbon copy, same principal.
