I will once again be heading across the pond to France for an extended trip. Leaving on Tuesday and will first be heading to Normandy for the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings. There will be an armada of as many of the original C-47's/Dakotas (DC-3's) as are still flying and the lead plane is the original lead plane from 1944. They will be doing parachute drops as well with era correct uniforms and controllable chutes that are in a configuration similar to the originals.
From Bayeux, we will take the train to Nice where we will lease a car and then work our way along the south coast to Cassis and then turn north to Avignon, then Le Puy, Clermont-Ferrand, Amboise, Chinon and finally Paris for our return to the states on the 9th of July.
Will be trying to spot any Pagodas on the road that we can. The last trip two summers ago we saw quite a few in Nice and Villefranche-sur-Mer. We'll see what we can catch on this trip.
Best,
Roland

Have an enjoyable and safe trip Roland. We returned to Italy on May 20 and drove to France yesterday. We are in Bonnieux near Avignon for a week, somewhat to the west of our 2018 European Event adventures in Verdon last autumn. The weather is great for top down driving and the countryside is fantastic. I have seen numerous MBs from Germany sans top but no Pagodas yet. Keeping my eyes peeled!
There were some great pictures on the BenzWorld R107 forum a few days ago showing the restored C124s being returned to Normandy for the celebrations. They can be found under the thread, “What have you done to your R107, today”, Post 105.

Keep an eye out if you're near Place Vendome in Paris next Saturday, or between there and St Tropez between Sun and Thur

I assume this is for Le Rallye des Princesses. Your wife must be entered again this year in your car.
Unless we decide to extend a few days here, we will be back in Italy before they arrive in the South of France.
Wishing her a safe and successful event!
