Title: Which AC units were available in 1968
Post by: johnk on May 07, 2019, 20:45:38
I was planning on adding an original AC unit to my 68 280 as I finish up the restoration. Were both the Frigiking and Kuhlmeister units put on the 280’s in that year?

Thanks

John K

John k, Im fairly certain  in 68 Kuhlmeister was used until early 69,
im only going on Pagodas  over the years for sale.
The Kuhlmeister dash outlet is different to the better Frigiking,
i think if it was my  car i would  fit  the original dash outlet , but use
a more modern compressor,Sanden, etc,  .and better evaporator behind the
dash.  regards.

Thank you Wayne. Using the new component with the an original dash component seems to be a good recommendation to me.

So did the frigiking replace the Kuhlmeister unit in 1969?

Thanks
John

The knee bolster pad on the Fridgking was added in 1968 for USA safety regs. It is possible that there were a few left over Kuhlmeisters installed in 68.
