I need a good picture of an orginal headlight bucket with good detail inside the headlight bucket. I found I am going to have to remove some lead inside my bucket that is preventing me from installing European headlights. I would like a good resolution picture to show to the body& fender person of what is correct.

There are a couple of headlight bucket shots in the restoration blog (page 3 and 4) Brian Peters has on his site. Not sure if they are close enough for you or not but if you save them to your computer and then zoom them up larger they may work.
Those are the only readily available ones I know of; you know how to find them.

Bob,
Are you sure? I don't recall anyone else ever needing to do this. Are you sure you have the proper headlight assemblies?
Has anyone else ever had problems putting Euro head lights into a USA W113?

On my 69 there was a holder or small one inch bracket at the bottom front of my headlight buckets that unscrewed and needed to be removed which allowed me to install my Euro lights.

Humm!! now this is what I now from the pictures I receive of the headlight bucket. There is a shallow valley on the bottom of the bocket that allows one of the ajustments to the headlight assemblie to be made perhaps the fog lamps. There is no valley in my headlamp bucket and I know that body work was done at one time and it appears that led was used to make these areas flush.I have come to determine that while tring to fit the headlight that it hangs up on the bottom perportion of the bucket and may need to have some fine reshaping of the valley and bottom perportion of the bucket to let me properly fit the European German lights.
As far as I know these are correct lights as I purchased them from Tom Hanson just before he left Caliber motors. Perhaps getting a headlight bucket and seeing how it fits the back of the headlight assembly will help me figure out what is wrong.
I thank you for all of your thoughts concerning this problem and will continue to listen to any more suggestions.

Bob, the area you suspect that's giving you a problem you may want to try this. Put some type of paint (easy to remove when finished) in the problem areas. If the paint transfers to the light assembly you may have just found the problem. It's sort of like what a dentist would do after after repairing a tooth. Get rid of the high spots.
