Title: Fuel Tank Spring Fastener

Can anyone help me understand how to use, or have a picture of the spring clamp that fits on the rear of fuel tank.  I have the smaller tank on a 64 230SL. Please see the attached picture.

I have looked for hours trying to find a post or a picture to see how this piece attaches.

I am hoping to install my refurbished tank and fire the motor after 7 years tomorrow.

This is a re-enforcement plate for mounting the tank (total of three).  They slip over the edge of the tank flange at each of the three mounting points.

Thank you. I only have one. This was what was confusing me. Three totally makes sense. I guess I will add this to my next parts order.

I think the two on the sides are a bit different from the one in the back?
