Title: Gearbox reverse sensor switch and cable

Can anyone help me, I’m looking for the cable and switch from the gear box for the reversing lights ?? I am currently restoring a 230sl 1964 RHD and my cable has seen better days ! Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks

Hello Raffles,

The gear box and the reverse light switch location is identical on RHD and LHD cars.
The switch is located (bolted in) on the right hand side of the top lid of the gear box.
It's no. 238 on the attached factory drawing.

It should plug in into its counterpart from the wiring harness somewhere close to the firewall/clutch bell housing.

Sounds like yours may be an automatic?
