There is a set of European style headlights on E-Bay at http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7948888069&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT
The seller says he thinks that they will fit on a 113 but is not sure. Will they work on a 230SL?

Those are definitely 113 headlights

I just worked on my Euro lights a couple weeks ago and took pictures. I believe the connector on the back of the main reflector looks different than mine, but that might not stop you from using them. I'll publish pics tonight.

A while back, I purchased a front headlight on e-bay that was advertised as a 113 headlight. I was a little surprised when I got it. It looks like the ones that are shown at the link. They are very similar to the Euro headlights I have on my 67 230SL (Italian) but it is not exactly the same. First, it has a flat faced lens. Second, the parking light bulb and the main headlight bulb are completely different--I believe both are halogens and they take a different connector--this is clearly visible in the e-bay photos provided. I bought mine as a spare and have never tried to fit it. Can see no reason why it won't work, but I can't be 100% sure because it certainly is a different version (later like the electric fuel pumps and tailights used on the 280sls???)than the two on my car now.

There are two types of lenses for the Euro lights. One is a bubble type and the other is flat. I have the bubble style on my car and have heard the flat lens will tend to break more easily.[:0]

Here is a picture of the euro headlights taken at dusk. I find the halogen lamps are more than adequate during my rare evening drives.

George Des,
Does your flat lens headlamp have a single or two main beam bulbs?
All Euro lights I've seen have a single (dual filament) bulb with a P43t base.
These ebay lamps have two separate (seems like) H1 bulbs. Also the red wires and the 3 pin connector seem to be non-original.

Naj,
I will try to take a picture of it and I will attempt to post it. The light I purchased has the flat lens w/ Bosch number 1305630067 on it. The main headilight appears to be two separate bulbs with spade type connectors. The parking ligt is mounted over the top of these and has a conventional bulb and connector. The fog light unit has two bulbs as well. All the lighting units have significantly diiferent connectors and wiring than the Euro units that came with the car

Here's the back of my headlight. Note the connectors around the main reflector unit.

Compared to this one from the eBay auction.
