Title: Mechatronic featured in Mercedes Enthusiast
Post by: TA250SL on January 23, 2005, 02:00:28
The January issue of "Mercedes Enthusiast" has a story on the Mechatronic company and their Mercedes modifications.  The article features the 300SL with a modern MB engine and tranny, but also mentions their work with the Pagoda and other models.

Wish I had a copy of that article.  I find what Mechatronik is doing to be most interesting.  However, they are sure going beyond what I'd of ever envisioned.

Did the article mention anything about the wheels & tires they're using???  I seem to recall having read or heard that Mechatronik's is using 15 inch wheels along with normal MB-style wheel covers.  I'm very interested in trying this combo ... not with alloys, but rather with 15" wheels that will accept regular painted hub caps / wheel covers, along with ultra high performance tires (hopefully with a 3/4" whitewall added!).

Tom,

The MSL 320 has 15 inch wheels as a standard feature.  On the MSL 280, 14 inch wheels are standard.

Does anybody know, if the car reg. documents
on these cars still shows "Make: Mercedes"
and chassis-no 113 ?

Or do the cars get new chassis numbers and
make(mechatronik)after modification ?
