After 20 months of restoration, my 1970 280 SL is home for a shakeout/break-in visit. In 28 years of ownership, it has never looked this good. It will go back to Gus for final tuning and to retrieve the hard top which is still being re-done.
For anyone who is having a car restored, the wait is worth it!

Congratulations John!
We have a local C&C on Sunday, November 4th at Brookshire Bros. 8 - 11 am. Hopefully you can bring it out. If not, bring it by the house when you are out "exercising" the car and have a few minutes. I would love to see it "up close and personal".

Very nice John. Hopefully you will have a mild winter and will be able to exercise it well over the next few months.👏 ;)

Looks very nice! Looks like you have black hub caps? So your hard top is black? Maybe those are dark blue?
What color white is that. I assume 717 or 050?
Enjoy!

Kampala,
Yes they are black and the hardtop will be black also. The car did not originally come with a hard top, it was acquired by a previous owner. The color is 050. I've attached a "before" picture from February 2017, the day before it went to the restorer. Big difference.
