Check out the Technical Manual under Data Card. Lots to learn!

For that you need a datacard for given car. If the owner (I do not know if it is you who is the owner) does not have it, they can reqyest it from Daimler through a dealership. Daimler will issue it for the owner based on confirmed ownership.

Data card contains all information you talk about.

If you are not an owner, you will not receive a data card. If the current owner does not have it, you will not know all the information you talk about.

For newer cars you have lots of VIN decoders. For Mercedes, starting, I thnk with W107 you have them all in the system. But not for W113 and earlier.

I saw you were asking about an engine in another thread. It means probably that it is your car. If this is the case, MB dealer can get a data card on your request based on proof of ownership. If at the dealer they will tell you they cannot do it or similar ("we do not know what you are talking about") - push back, they can, they should do it through the classic center. You should receive it by e-mail within 3-4 days in pdf format. I was never charged anything for that service.

Or contact Tom Hanson at the Classic Centre in California directly ask him for your Data Card. Give him your VIN Number, a photo of your car and a scanned copy of your car registration (it must show the VIN No. and your Name. Tom's e-mail address is below. Once you get your Data Card, go to the link

Here ===> https://www.sl113.org/wiki/DataCard/DataCards

It shows verious data cards and below provides descriptions in German and English of all the options the car left the factory with (You may need to be a Full Member to access the link I provided).

Certainly Rolf-Dieter offers a good solution. Tom is in the US, but I am sure he would help a customer from Europe. I do not think we are that lucky here - we may not have "Tom" in the classsic center in Europe, at least I have not come across Tom's equivalent...

Just bear in mind: you may need to establish relationship with MB dealer near you anyway if this is the beginning of your journey with a classic Mercedes. Which is a great journey, by the way.

thank you Rolf

My pleasure, just e-mail Tom with your VIN# and scan your proof of ownership bearing your name and the VIN No. Tom is very helpful and once he has your information he will e-mail you the Data Card for your car.
