Two of the hard injector lines are not seating and leaking at the injector connection. The male line seems rough and I feel needs cleaned and maybe dressed w Emory paper or similar. Is this typical? Had head rebuilt and this is first start up at the end of the job. The end of the job is that in sight.

Try cleaning them up. If they don't seal used lines are not hard to find and they were at least recently still available from Mercedes. If memory serves around $200 each.

What part of the line is rough? The ball surface that seats into the injector or the threads of the nut. If it is the ball, that has to be perfectly smooth and NO scratches. If the nut is hard to turn, the threads may be galled. With that, you are possibly not getting enough compression force from the nut to seat the ball into injector. I believe the torque on the nut is about 20 ft. lbs. Might double check that to be sure.

As a word of caution hold the outlet fittings on the pump with a wrench when tightening the line nuts at the FI pump end. Tightening the lines without golding the outlet fittings can cause the aluminum threads in the pump body to strip out which could be a very bad day.

I have removed all the hard line clamps to get free movement and allow for the best seating. That cured it. Replaced all the clamps and now no 3 is leaking at the injector connection. Will remove all the clamps and start over, no leaks at pump..
