Title: vinyl trim on hatch cover
Post by: drewsalisbury on May 02, 2003, 11:45:56
Can any member define if there is foam padding under the vinyl trim on the hatch cover?  If yes, is there some std. interior shop material that may be used or MB part?
Thanks for any insights,
Drew

Drew,
Mine did not have any padding, just the fabric glued on, but I would get additional advice from others, as mine may not have been original. Mine is also shortly due back from 3 month visit to paint shop, whereupon I will have to put everything back together- let me know of any pointers as you go along.

I have a '71 280Sl also in arabian grey - black interior.  When I redid my car about 4 yrs.ago the vinyl was merely glued to the hatch.  I don't believe my car was tampered with before my redo.
