Does anyone have photos of original 230/250 rubber floor mats out of the car? I’d like to see how they were trimmed around the dimmer switch as the repro mats appear to have no accommodation for the dimmer. Thanks!

MB just posted they are now selling new mats again...
"Time for new rubber floor mats for your classic 230 and early 250 SL (W113-series)? It is a common misconception that the early “Pagoda” vehicles had carpeted footwells. Ensure the correct appearance of your 230 SL and early 250 SL with genuine Mercedes-Benz rubber floor mats. Now available for $116.00 each. To minimize the wear and tear of genuine rubber floor mats, we recommend covering them while driving with accessory carpet mats. For more information or to place an order, please call our parts specialists directly at 1-866-622-5277 (toll-free from within the U.S.) or send us an email to classicparts@mbusa.com."

It would be interesting to know what they are using as a part number for their rubber mats. I could then type it into EPC here in the UK and see if they are MB supplied or repro aftermarket being supplied by MBUSA.

I have had my 1966 230SL since new and the floor mats have not been changed. I did not take a picture but I did look to see what was done for the dimmer switch. Just a round hole cut in the mat. Nothing else. No trim around it or anything like that. Just a round hole.

The rubber mats were featured in the Classic Center's August News Letter.
The parts numbers they are using are:
113 684 09 02 6131 LT
113 684 08 02 6131 RT

Appreciate the inputs. My question was prompted by the Classic Center release of the floormats, which Douglas Kim forwarded to me. I simply don't understand why the mats aren't released with the appropriate trimming to fit into the vehicle. I'm sure that many of us would pay the slight premium it would cost for these to be professionally and accurately trimmed.

I remember the aftetrmarket rubber mats being available a few years ago but only in black. Are the MB ones available in various colors now?

The “6131” at end of the part number denotates anthracite grey. On my 250, the original Door Sill mats are also Anthracite. Same color as the trunk mat in all cars
See link for color matrix.

Although Anthracite is the predominant mat color in both the leather and M-B Tex charts, it looks like quite a few interiors include brown mats, so there certainly would be a fair demand for brown mats as well if they were available. Even though blue mats only come in the Medium Blue interiors (123, 205) I seem to see a lot of pagodas with blue interiors (although I've never paid close attention to whether they were medium or dark blue!), so it wouldn't hurt for the Classic Center to produce all three colors.
If the current replacement mats are only offered in Anthracite, perhaps it is because the bean counters felt that they can move more of them in that color and recover their development, testing, material, production and distribution costs quicker. It may also be because it is the same color as the trunk mats already in production so some of those costs can be amortized over more products, reducing the cost per unit. Brown and Blue mats would incur additional development, testing and material costs, so the cost per unit would be higher for than for Anthracite.
Originally there appear to be three holes punched in the driver's side mat posted earlier. The more complexity that is introduced into stocking an item the higher the cost per unit! My guess is that they don't punch the holes in the replacement mats so that there is only one price point and they only need two stock numbers for a set of Anthracite universal mats instead of two price points and four stock numbers for right and left hand drive sets. If they make the mats available in all three colors they would only need six stock numbers for universal mats v.s. twelve if they stocked left and right hand drive sets.

I ordered a set of these floor mats from the classic centre and they arrived yesterday. They look pretty nice to me. There are no holes cut anywhere except I guess for mounting lugs, there is also a reinforcement on the back where the holes are.
All holes would need to be cut, including dimmer switch and gas pedal.
They both have a Mercedes sticker on the back but there is also another number stamped on the back, either a part number or a date code. They fit well and the colour is good.

Something dropped from the shelf behind the stand in a warehouse. They looked behind that stand to find it and found a pallett of floor rubber mats they lost 9 years ago...
