Title: Child Seat for Pagodas

I have just bought a 230SL coupé for use in Illinois.  Is there a way to install a legal child seat in the space behind the main front seats for a 2-3 year old?  Presumably sideways if so.  Does anyone know of a child seat brand that would work?

Don't know about legalities but you will need a seat with good side impact protection.   There is a big part of me that says just don't.  child harness systems are designed for a fore and aft configuration.  There really isn't a good way to keep your childs spine in line in a side facing seat.

Agreed with Shvegel. Just not worth it. I have two little ones who would love to ride in the SL, but I don’t think there is a safe way to bring them along.
