Hi All,

Hemmels has developed an on-line configurator for our customers to explore colour combinations of both 280SL and 190SL.

It's not perfect but it's a bit of fun and free to use if you're interested. The link is

This is a great tool.  I'm considering having my car repainted in the original papyrus white.  This gave a nice contrast with how it would compare to the 050 white.

Iain, thanks for sharing.  Very nice and a great tool.

Rich, you really need to see a 717 car next to a 050.  Mine is 717 and would have to say it is a brighter white than the 050, which looks more off white.  A friend of mine has an 050 white car and parked next to each other they are very much different, more so than the Hemmels design studio graphics show.

Hi, Marcus.  This is very helpful.  I know that my car was repainted in it's history.  Original was papyrus white per the data card.   I actually like the white that I have on the car as it exists today.  I'd call it slightly off white.  A clue may be that my tonneau cover is in a much brighter white which is what I don't want. 

I can see that I'll need more diligence on this question.

I love this configurator, but I would be very cautious trusting variuos shades of colours in it and on the computer screen...

Yes - good advice Pawell66.

The colours aren't quite right and they vary hugely depending on the monitor or device you're using. We're working on all the colours for the next release, but I couldn't resist sharing with everyone 'as is'.  ;-) 

I imagine everyone has 'opened the doors'.

But has anyone got the wipers to work yet!! ??

It took me some time to open the doors. It took me some time to get rid of the side marker lights. I tried the hood and the trunk - no luck. But wipers!!

Yes! The wipers work! Cool!

You may want to try to make the sun shades go up. Horn to work. Shifter to move. etc.

I also could use DB166 grey blue for 190SL.
