Hi Fellow Merc-ers
Am having trouble disconnecting the hollow line for oil dipstick. I can't seem to turn the smaller 24mm nut close to the oil pan without it also twisting the pipe. the 24mm nut seems to be locked to the larger nut on the pipe. If I turn the smaller one on its own it twists the dipstick pipe. I don't like to apply any more force than I am already doing. Any tips greatly accepted !
When I replace the gasket for the oil pan, should I use any gasket sealer compound ?
Many thanks !

Hi,
I never used gasket sealer for this and it was always tight. Don't obertight the cork gasket.

You will need to hold the fitting at the oil pan from turning. Two wrenches required, one must be skinny!

Thanks both of you! Of course the one at the oil pan in the one that is turning. Will have to buy a big spanner especially for the job. Looks like 26 or 27mm..
I have another problem now ! The filter in the kit I have received from Mercedes (pic below "Filter") is very different to the one I was expecting pic below (from our own Pagoda SL Group auto trans page "Filter Automatikgetriebe").
The kit has the correct part number 112 270 0098. The filter in the kit has a separate part number 112 277 029 564.
The fellow at Mercedes is perplexed. It doesn't help that I haven't yet been able to get the filter out of my own car yet.
Any ideas, guys? Thanks as always.

I too had the metal screen filter originally. They changed it to the paper filter and they are interchangeable.
