Sorry to have to revive this topic yet again but...
Taking advice from several of you I spoke directly with Ed Ebel of Becker and told him I needed the DIN cable that would enable me to connect an iPod to the back of my Europa II.
I knew I would need a 'Radio Shack' cable in between this cable and the iPod but I assumed the part he was sending would have a finished connector / plug on each end. This piece I got has an 8-pin plug on one end and 4 bare wires + what appears to be a fifth ground wire on the other.
Did Ed do Ed wrong or is this what I should have expected?
$38.50 + $8.00 shipping = $46.50

Wouldn't it be eaisier to buy a ITrip FM Transmitter and keep it wireless?

The correct part number for the stereo version is BNA.CBL.STER and has a DIN connector at one end and a female mini stereo jack at the other for the source input. I don't know what you received, but let Ed know it's the wrong part. He will exchange it.

Gents -- This is a bit off-topic, but Tom's comment about a little FM transmitter is not bad.
I have a MB GPS system in my CLK500, which is fine. But I also have the same software & capability on my PDA, which I use in the 280SL or any other car I wish. A cool thing about this arrangement is that I plug a miniture FM transmitter into the PDA then tune in the Becker Europa II and the GPS software will provide excellent spoken directions through the car's speakers.

1. Ed sent the wrong part. It's supposed to have a square box on the end with an opening in it.
2. My experience with FM transmittors isn't good. The one I had didn't provide a reliable signal over long distances. MacWorld has a similar opinion.
