Title: 280SL A/C FRIGIKING
Post by: Thierry du Laos on June 05, 2018, 07:39:05
Hi,
Back on the car to finalize some items I left pending. I don't remember how was connected the AC Frigiking ?
I have the wires coming from the unit but can't remember at the engine bay...!
There is a little fuse holder for 2 fuses. I think one for the AC, and maybe the second for an electrical antena?
I think the 12V comes in the car loom. Who can help me to remember...?
Thanks
Thierry from Laos

There are  2  +12v wires , attached to the frigiking.  The thicker wire is going to the pumpclutch , the other wire is the +12v for the unit.

Hi 450SL,
Do you mean the 2 black ones?
I have 3 wires, 2 black and also a colored one!
Would the colored one be a ground?
So:
The one of the pump clutch goes also to the Idle actuator to increase engine speed I think.
The other +12V is on the fuse box, and supplied from the car loom +12V.

Yes the 2 black wires. Ground can be determinayed by measuring continuity.

I hope the colored one is a Ground.
Sounds strange to me, because its not a brown, but  red !!!

An other that I don't find logic, is the smaller black supplies ALL (Fans, compressor, Idle ..).
And the big one goes ONLY to the compresseur and Idle actuator?
Do I miss something?

I'll measure, thanks a lot.

Great, 450SL,
I measured yesterday evening the wires and it confirmed your info.
I connected, and its nice to see the A/C working since I bought and restored the car.
This week end I will refill the circuit.

Thanks again also for the schema
