Title: Blow #5 Fuse
Post by: RonB on May 23, 2018, 22:55:45
When I put the car in reverse (auto - US) I blow # 5 fuse.

I have disconcerted the following Reversing lights, Stop light, brake indicator lamp, turn signal indicator.

It seems to be in the reverse lockout system.

Also what if R. P. M. switch? On wiring diagram it is #50. One of the wires from the lock out goes to R.P.M. switch

I have been at this for over a week. Would very much appericate  any leads and  direction that one can give.

Thanks

Check the wiring for the three position solenoid and pressure switches at the terminal block on the auto transmission (bottom right)also.
With this fuse blown or out, the transmission may not shift correctly.

The RPM switch is part of the emissions control system

Hi Joe Car shifts nicely.   By chance Joe, do your remember the # of the Trans relay?  Don't see on the dia.

Went in and took out the back up lights from Lock out  switch on the firewall (lt. blue/silver wire) (no reverse lights) - look like it in the reverse circuit under the dash.

Then the RPM switch would be the Transistor ignition?    Do have Emission controls - my error

I have the T. I.  discounted - using a Praxton.

Thanks
