I am sure others have had a similar problem.
The passenger visor on my 2390sl slips down. I have tightened the screw as much as I can. (afraid of going through the other side of the visor) I have tried shrink tubing on the bracket rod, tape, etc to no avail. Could there be an insert or spacer in the visor missing? Does anyone have any suggestions or tricks to solve the problem?
I saw a post from 2013 with a similar issue but it didn't suggest any solutions

I am afraid I adopted a Brutalist approach eventually ! and I put them in the vice, and squuzed the tube and rod slightly, and now they are much better, but not perfect.
If you do this make sure you protect the visor vinyl fromthe vice.

Hi Sadie,
Sounds to me like (your description) the screw tread is damaged or the screw tread itself that prevents the screw to grib the visor bar.
I would remove the screw, then examine both the screw tread and visor thread. If the screw is the problem I would replace it. If the visor thread is the problem I would try using a piece of paper or thin cloth material piece along with the screw to tighten the screw.

I should have noted that they are new visors, however, it had the same problem with the old. Maybe the rod is too "shiny" and slippery

Ah, if they are new, you need to search on here for the solution..which I read here sometime last year, I think. The narative concerns complaints about new visors not fitting tightly, but was resolved by an explanation wrt fitting procedure.
The tube / rod fit is not fully round but slightly eliptical, and the tubes need to be slipped over the rods at the correct angle on initial fitting, or you can suffer these problems.
Perhaps others can remeber the Topic and posts and help find it.
