Hello friends, I have a very nice complete Hardtop for the Pagoda cars. It is red. Headliner not the best but all there. I would redo the headliner. Just wondering how much is it worth? Paint is the original red that has been repainted and still a 10. I don't know how it can be shipped but it is in Dallas. TX for pickup.
Let me know your thoughts please so I can post here with a price.

I can't help you with the price but the hardtop should have a number stamped on it. Maybe when you post it for sale you can include that number as maybe it belongs to someones car and they didn't even know it. Or it could have been salvaged from a car that was previously written off for whatever reason.

Jordan, it belongs to my very rusty red 280sl project that has been sitting outside and will be sitting outside many years! It is covered and protected now (don't panic) and it's not for sale but I started with having the red hardtop painted several years ago and just stopped there. So, that is the story.

I'm spending approximately $4500 on redoing my hardtop which I looking forward to having on buy late May.
It will car all new plated chrome - except the rear chrome bottom piece below the window 0 still available from MB for 1K.
New rubber and head line along with paint.
Value ??

They cost way more to restore than what they are worth. Of the recent ones I have seen for sale $2500 - 3000 appears to be the general value for one in good condition. Dont think I have ever seen one that actually sold for more than $3000.

What type of red is it? I would be interested.
My car is fire red and I am in Houston.
Can post photos?

Gary, thanks so much. I'm getting all sorts of emails asking for a price to buy but I am not getting a ball park figure of what it's worth. So, I thank you Gary for posting that. It is the bright red factory original color. I will get some pictures taken soon. Give me sometime. Getting old.

Interesting, I wonder if this is a typo ... shows $400.00 for a not bad looking Hardtop

would he have meant $4,000.00 ???
anyway, I came across this so if anyone needs one ... good luck

You made me look😜 That top is for a 107. Note different side window shape, no rear window interior wood trim, different side locking handles, etc

My bad, thanks for pointing it out.

As you guys may remember my hardtop was sitting in front of my car when the car was pushed into it. I spent approx. $ 5k to have it rebuilt. That included new glass. I tried to buy another one, found a black one for a 230SL. Had no tinted widows and needed much reconditioning. They wanted 2K for it. It was local. It is always very difficult to assess the true condition of items for sale unless you can inspect personally, so local availability is desirable. I'm good now.

I bet you could spend 8-10K doing a hard top if you did everything.

I restored one for both my cars, in black. I bought a used one for $1500, rechroming and rubber parts $2000. Labor $4000
