I believe this is also called a Warm Up Device.
On my 230SL, this housing has corroded and has several pin holes. It may not be repairable but I'm checking.
Has anyone sourced one of these recently? I know that they are NLA from the Classics Center. I would like to get a new one or at least a used one in good condition.
Thanks much,
Rich

I might have one. I am headed into the attic of my garage in a few minutes so I will look.

Thanks for you help with this!

If he can't find one....https://www.sls-hh-shop.de/main/en/mercedes-230-280sl-w113-/07-mech-injection-air-intake-/07-b-injection-pump Item #70
I had to buy one for my '60 220SE W128. The ports for that are in a different direction and had to be repositioned and welded. See attached. What a pain! Rarity has its downsides.

Hi, Wallace.
Thanks for this info. The SLS site does show the correct thermostat housing for the 230SL but they are out of stock. I called them today and they suggested checking back in one or two weeks. I'm hoping for a shorter term fix or replacement if possible.
Regards,
Rich

There is a guy in Germany who makes new ones out of brass for $150. I am ordering one now.

FYI, I did finally get my new one from SLS once they restocked. I had it installed recently. Happy ending!

Just to follow up, I got my new thermostat housing from Germany for$208 including shipping plus I found a new dos thermostat(old type) from VintageEuroParts.com for $400 plus shipping. Happy ending. MBClassic was $1000 for the thermostat alone
