Title: Front fender lower profile/photos
Post by: swood1 on March 26, 2018, 08:25:13
Hi all,

My front lower fender looks to have been removed and welded back on the vehicle at least once before.  There was rust along the bottom edge.  I cut above the rust when I removed it.  My question is can anyone direct me on what the profile is for the bottom of the fender please so I can make a correct profile repair patch.  My fender on the other side has a small step but I am pretty sure this one had probably been off the vehicle also.

Regards

Steve

Can you take a picture of the exact area?

Will attempt to get in the workshop this evening and take a pic.  It's basically the very bottom edge of the outer fender, the part that mates with the rocker panel.

Here you go.  You can see remnants of braze on the edge.  It may have been cut in the same place previously.

See pic attached [right outer front fender to rocker (sill)]. This is an original unwelded SL

K&K makes a nice lower patch panel for this section.  I wish i would have seen it before I spent the time fabicating my own patch.
