Title: light switch

I don't succeed in removing the light switch. As I pulled the rubber knob i can see the securing ring which I already unscrewed. But I cannot release the knob from the little shaft to which it is attached. Do I just pull very hard or is there a way of working? Can someone help me out? Thanks in advance.

Don't be afraid of breaking it, just yank it straight off, it will come.
